Symphonic Winds make recording

The District 90 NIGHT TIME Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
The Father-Daughter Dance is Friday, March 18. There is limited space. The first 25 girls who turn in their registration will be VIP’s for the event. They will receive an extra gift and have priority seating.
The Student Council kicked off their "Soda Tab" collection on Friday. Tabs will be collected in advisory classes, with the winning class being announced on April 12. All tabs will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. The class with the most tabs, by weight, will win a pizza party.
The O’Fallon Middle School tennis season starts on March 31.
Carriel Jr. High
Do you have a Nerf gun, and are you tired of your parents telling you to not shoot it in the house or at your little brother or sister? Carriel has the solution for you. On Friday, March 18, Carriel will be holding a Nerf Gun war from 7-9 p.m. Bring one of your guns and play games for a couple of hours with your friends. The event will be held for the first 40 students who sign up, and participants are limited to Carriel students. The cost is $10 per student.
Marie Schaefer
Marie Schaefer Elementary will hold its annual Trivia and Tunes Auction Night Saturday, March 19, at Katy Cavins Center in O'Fallon. Doors open at 6 p.m. with trivia at 7 p.m. Bring your own snacks and drinks (alcohol permitted for over 21). A few seats remain for the trivia, and raffle tickets will be available up to and at the event (you do not need to participate in trivia to be in raffles).
Girls on the Run Spring Team and the Boys Running club started up last week. Cheer on these 3-5th grade students as they train for 5K races later this spring.
Students are busy collecting change and online donations to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The drive comes to an end March 23.
Sign-up sheets went home last week for a read run marathon. Help a student read 26 books and complete equivalent of 26 miles run (last mile students run together in a fun weekend race). Gym teacher Mrs. Mudd will recognize students completing this challenge with a medal or other small prize.
O’Fallon Township High School
The O’Fallon Panther Band Boosters Organization will be holding a trivia night Saturday, April 2 at the O’Fallon Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open at 6:30 with a 7 p.m. start. Central School District
Central School District 104 will hold a talent show on Wednesday, March 23, at 8:15 a.m.
St. Clare
St. Clare will be well represented at the Youth Authors Conference. Students representing St. Clare School at the Young Authors’ Conference this year will be: second grade, Eva Bow, third grade, Isabelle Elliott, fourth grade-Lyndi Kaufman and Alex Hattan who finished in first.
Maddie Wade who attended the next level of the NIE Spelling Bee at McKendree University.
The St. Clare chess team participated in the Diocesan Chess Tournament. Twenty-three students from St. Clare played in the tournament. The team finished the tournament with a winning match record (44-43-2), placing fifth out of eight teams and were half a point from fourth. Kellen Barackman, Nash Johaningmeyer, Braden Buck, Owen Buchheit, Aidan Kelly, Julia Nugent and Michael Urbanski had a 3-1 record, Keller Maher and Andrew Hong had a 2-1-1 record and Jack Toennies and Cecilia McCarthy had a 2-1 record. They will be wrapping up the season with a St. Clare only tournament April 30.
A number of St. Clare students participated in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade Science Olympiads at Althoff High School. Fifth and sixth grade participants were Madison Brennan, Sean Chaffee, Connor Chapple, Tia Golder, Natalie Hale, Hennace Herran, Ben Hug, Lily Kampwerth, Ava Pace, Evan Rybak, Julia Whitworth, Andrew Hong, Eli Butters and Jake Guerrero.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Henken, Sophie Hertzler, Kate Macaluso and Briana McMinn who finished all in first place.
Ryan Clancy, Curt Stutsman, Connor Vargo, and Will Vargo finished the tourney in third..
The regular Scholar Bowl season is over and the team ended the season with a record of 27 wins and 9 losses.
Sean Chaffee, Kiley McMinn, Brandon Reed, Chloe Davidson, Anna Flath, Olivia Fults, Zaim Khan, Claire Rineberg, Alex Buchheit and Luke Sheerin participated in Saturday’s Southwestern Illinois College Science Fair
