O’Fallon to hold Taste of the Area

FRIDAY, MARCH 25

Knights of Columbus

The O’Fallon Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor its weekly fish fry from 4-8 p.m., Friday, at the K of C Hall, located at 402 E. Highway 50, across from the City Park. The traditional menu of fried cod and blue gill will be available, along with numerous side dishes. Baked cod has also been added to the menu. Dine in or carry out is available. Orders can be called in at 632-6229. Lunch is also available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

O’Fallon VFW Post 805

O’Fallon VFW Post 805, 221 W. First Street, and its Ladies Auxiliary will hold a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday. Dine-in or call 624-2651 for carry-out.

American Legion Post 137

American Legion Post 137, 109 N. Penn St., O’Fallon, will host a fish fry from 4:30-8 p.m., Friday. For take out orders, call 632-8879.

Taste of the Area

The St. Clair County Extension and Education Foundation Board will hold its third annual Taste of the Area Friday, April 1, from 5- 8 p.m. at the Regency Conference Center at 400 Regency Park in O’Fallon. Tickets are $25 per person. Advanced tickets are highly encouraged, but will be available at the door. Call (618) 939-3434 for reservations, tickets or for more information.

Among the participating restaurants and caterers will be Anton's Catering, Chick-Fil-A, Chilis, The Garden Grill and Bar, Happy Bakery, Hemingway's Zen Garden, Jersey Mike's Subs, Joe’s Crab Shack, Lunch for the Bunch, McAlister’s Deli, Olive Garden, Pampered Chef, Stone Cold Creamery, Sweet Katie Bee’s, Tastefully Simple and Texas Roadhouse.

37th annual Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show

George Portz of Shiloh is hosting his 37th annual Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show at the O’Fallon Knights of Columbus, 402 E. Highway 50, on Saturday, April 9. The Thunder and Lightening Cloggers and Harmonica Champion Matt McElroy will open the show at 5 p.m. The fiddler contest begins at 6 p.m. A full bluegrass and country show, featuring Friends of Bluegrass, starts at 8:30 p.m. Full dinners, sandwiches and deserts are served all evening. Ward 4 meeting

O’Fallon Ward 4 Aldermen Herb Roach and Matthew Smallheer will hold a town hall meeting for Ward 4 residents on Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the O’Fallon Public Safety Building located at 285 North Seven Hills Rd. This is an excellent opportunity for Ward 4 residents to hear about what happening is in Ward 4.

Salute to Business Awards

The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce and the O’Fallon Progress will co-host the Salute to Business Awards honoring businesses that have made a particularly positive impact in the community at a luncheon on Thursday, April 14, at the Regency Conference Center, 400 Regency Dr., O’Fallon. Registration starts at 11:15 a.m. The program begins at 11:45 a.m. This is the Chamber’s 40th annual awards luncheon. Ward 3 meeting

O'Fallon Ward 3 Aldermen Kevin Hagarty and Jerry Mouser will hold a town hall meeting for Ward 3 residents on April 19 6:30 p.m. at O'Fallon City Hall located at 255 South Lincoln Ave. St. Clair County Board member John West will give a presentation on property taxes.
