Taste of the Area
The St. Clair County Extension and Education Foundation Board will hold its third annual Taste of the Area from 5-8 p.m., at the Regency Conference Center at 400 Regency Park in O’Fallon. Tickets are $25 per person. Advanced tickets are highly encouraged, but will be available at the door. For more information, call (618) 939-3434. Life Line Screening

Knights of Columbus
The O’Fallon Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor its weekly fish fry from 4-8 p.m., at the K of C Hall, located at 402 E. Highway 50, across from the City Park. The traditional menu of fried cod and blue gill will be available, along with numerous side dishes. Baked cod has also been added to the menu. Dine in or carry out is available. Orders can be called in at 632-6229. Lunch is also available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

O’Fallon VFW Post 805, 221 W. First Street, and its Ladies Auxiliary will hold a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday. Dine-in or call 624-2651 for carry-out.

O’Fallon Habitat for Humanity
The O'Fallon Area Habitat for Humanity Chapter will have a site blessing at 9 a.m. The Rev. Robert Downs of the Faith Lutheran Church will perform the site blessing at 122 Carson St. in O'Fallon. This is the start of the second Habitat Home in O'Fallon. Mayor Gary Graham and all the city aldermen have been invited to the ceremony. The O’Fallon Panther Band Boosters Organization will hold a trivia night Saturday, April 2 at the O’Fallon Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open at 6:30 with a 7 p.m. start. The OTHS Tennis program will be offering its annual Middle School Tennis Camp for students in sixth-eighth grades. Cost is $50. The camp runs on Thursdays (6-7 p.m.) from March 31-May 19. Pick up a flyer in the Office if you’re interested.

The O’Fallon Public Library at 10:30 a.m. will hold a special story time to help introduce 10 new videos of story books translated into a American Sign Language. The story time will show several of the stories and is appropriate for hearing and hearing impaired children. The Senior Citizens Club of O’Fallon will be holding it’s monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the O’Fallon Township Building, located at 801 E. State St in O’Fallon. The meeting will be for the member birthdays, regular business and entertainment. Instead of usual dessert treats, the club will sponsor the March member birthdays with special cakes.

37th annual Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show
George Portz of Shiloh is hosting his 37th annual Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show at the O’Fallon Knights of Columbus, 402 E. Highway 50, on Saturday, April 9. The Thunder and Lightening Cloggers and Harmonica Champion Matt McElroy will open the show at 5 p.m. The fiddler contest begins at 6 p.m. A full bluegrass and country show, featuring Friends of Bluegrass, starts at 8:30 p.m. Full dinners, sandwiches and deserts are served all evening. The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce, along with the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce and event sponsor Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard, PC, are hosting its the 3rd annual Springboard to Success, a Women’s Forum from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Regency Conference Center in O’Fallon.This half-day seminar was created to help empower women on their paths to success. There will be educational and motivational speakers, a continental breakfast, lunch, and unlimited networking opportunities.
