District 90 thanks CSX for donation

Thank you CSX Transportation.O’Fallon District 90 would like to publicly thank CSX Transportation for its most recent CSX donation of $10,000. CSX has given to District 90 over the past five years to help us develop programs which promote the integration and understanding of students with special needs. The Teach and Learn Club (TLC) is a program which systematically integrates typical peers and students with special needs during recess time to promote friendships and understanding. This concept has spread from one grade level in one building to all buildings across the district thanks to assistance from CSX. Last October, District 90 hosted a conference with over 100 attendees from area districts to share information about TLC and distributed $1,000 in attendance prizes. With the most recent grant funds, District 90 will be bringing in Sarah Ward, M.S., CCC-SLP. Ward is a nationall- recognized speaker with expertise in executive function skills. She will be speaking at the Katy Cavins Community Center on Oct. 27.
