TRI-COR to hold 22nd Annual Golf Tourney

TRI-COR Industries Inc. is sponsoring the 22nd Annual TRI-COR Golf Tournament at the Cardinal Creek Golf Club beginning at Noon on Friday, June 17 to benefit Friends of Military Families. It will be a four-person scramble at $80 a person, which includes greens fees, cart, range balls, dinner, on-course beverages, closest to the pin, longest drive, door prizes and place prizes. O’Fallon Fish Fry

The O’Fallon Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary continue to sponsor a weekly fish fry from 4-8 p.m. every Friday at the K of C Hall, located at 402 E. Hwy 50, across from the Community Park. The traditional menu of cod and tilapia will be available, along with hamburgers, hot dogs and additional side dishes. Baked cod has also been added to the menu. Dine in or carry out is available. Orders can be called in at 632-6229, and we now take credit cards. Lunch is also available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays.


Relay For Life

The annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life event will be hosted at O’Fallon Township High School from 4 p.m. to midnight, located at 600 South Smiley Street athletic field. The program will begin with a 4 p.m. ‘Opening Ceremony’ to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. Immediately, a ‘Survivor’s Lap’ will follow the opening, where cancer survivors take the first lap around the track to celebrate their victory over cancer. Following the survivor’s lap is a ‘Caregiver’s Lap’ for anyone who ever cared for someone with cancer can walk a special lay so they can be honored as well. Caregivers can walk this lap with the person they helped if they are also present. At 9 p.m. by candlelight, the ‘Luminaria Ceremony’ will take place for all to remember loved ones lost to cancer, support people who currently have cancer and honor people who fought cancer in the past as a way to walk through grief and find hope with others facing or who’ve faced similar challenges. At midnight, the ‘Closing Ceremony’ will occur to celebrate what all was accomplished together at the event, and to remember the lives of those lost, and to commit to continuing the fight against this disease over the next year. Faith Lutheran to host jazz fest and ice cream social

Jubilant Jazzfest will be Saturday, June 18 at 7 pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 520 E. Highway 50, O’Fallon. This exciting program will feature big band music by Jubilant Jazz, Trombones 4, Women's Quartet and the vocal artistry of Becky Filkins and Don Schafer. A freewill offering will benefit Faith's Concert Series. Ice cream sundaes will be served after the concert. For more information,call 632-5562.

Kiwanis to hold St. Louis Cardinals blood drive

The O’Fallon Kiwanis will hold a St. Louis Cardinals blood drive from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the O’Fallon Public Safety Building. All presenting donors will receive a St. Louis Cardinals commemorative T-shirt. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767.

Trivia Night

O’Fallon United Church of Christ will be hosting its annual Trivia Night with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., and trivia to begin at 6 p.m. on Sat., June 18 at 206 W. Adams in O'Fallon. Big Papa G Entertainment will be providing music trivia that will be full of fun. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams, best dressed musical entertainer and best decorated table. Raffle prizes and a silent auction will also be available. Cost is $100 for eachteam for up to eight team members. Bring your own snacks and beverages (alcohol is permitted).


Frierdich Fireworks show

From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Three Springs Park in Shiloh, Frierdich Fireworks is having a free fireworks display to honor and celebrate our United States Military members. Three Springs Park is located at 2250 Frank Scott Parkway East in Shiloh. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets.


Fontebella Golf Classic

Fontebella Maternity Home of O’Fallon is having its Second Annual Golf Classic to raise money for the wmen who come to Fontebella facing pregnancy without a safe place to go. Fontebella is a 501, C-3 nonprofit organization. At 1 p.m. the foursome golf scramble will begin at Stonewolf Golf Club located at 1195 Stonewolfe Trail in Fairview Heights. Raffles, prizes and contests available. On a Jack Nicklaus signature course, the cost is $100 per golfer, which includes green fees, a cart, dinner and two drink tickets. ‘Music of the Night’ 5K Fun Run/Walk

Registration is now open for this unique, music themed night race, sponsored by Lifelong Music in O’Fallon Schools, and benefiting music education in O’Fallon. The race will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, beginning and ending at Carriel Junior High School. Register before July 25 to guarantee your race shirt. Cost is $25 for a 50/50 blend race shirt, or $27 for a dri-fit shirt — both with reflective details — $30 on race day (shirts not guaranteed). Trophies to top three overall, men and women; medals to top three male and female in eight different age groups, plus attendance prizes. Timing by Toolen's Running Start will be provided.
