John Santos, 375th Communications Squadron electrician, is this week’s “Showcase on ICE.” As the subject matter expert on electrical requirements for infrastructure upgrades for the Scott Air Force Base Data Center, Santos masterminded the $2.8 million redundant power solution for new east and west Uninterrupted Power Supplies design and construction projects. He was integral to the team’s success in energy reductions, upgrades, and fault tolerance capacities, bringing the facility to the highest industry standards. Additionally, he was instrumental in preparing the layout of the second 2,500 amp bus duct in advance of west UPS modernization. Finally, he postured the unit for the next fiscal year using energy efficient technology and doubling the power capability of Building 1575.
