Scott AFB Main Clinic offers Drug Take Back

Excess prescription and over-the-counter drugs can pose a serious risk in the home.

Scott Air Force Base is helping the local community fight back against the dangers of unneeded, unused and expired drugs by offering Drug Take Back at the Main Clinic Pharmacy, located in the 375th Medical Group, Bldg. 1530.

“Proper drug disposal lowers the risk of abuse, accidental ingestion or environmental contamination.

“We accept both Control and Non-Control prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs,” said Tech. Sgt. Anna Anderson, 375th Medical Support Squadron pharmacy flight chief.

Drug Take Back is an important tool in our arsenal to prevent drug abuse.

“We can’t accept illegal drugs, aerosol spray cans, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, needles, syringes, sharps containers, more than four ounces of liquid medications, trash, mercury thermometers, batteries and chemicals.”

“Drug Take Back is an important tool in our arsenal to prevent drug abuse,” said Maj. Patrick DiTullio, 375th Medical Support Squadron pharmacy flight commander.

“I hope that members of the military community and our beneficiaries will clean out their medicine cabinets and make their homes safer for their loved ones and themselves.”
