Senior Airman Erica Fowler, 375th Public Affairs, is this week’s “Showcase on ICE.” Fowler serves as the wing’s social media manager, overseeing Scott Air Force Base’s Facebook and Twitter platforms, along with the wing commander’s Facebook presence. Under her oversight, Scott’s Facebook’s has grown 34 percent since January to nearly 50,000. With the proactive involvement of the wing commander, the commander’s Facebook page has grown 60 percent, and remains one of the few in the entire Air Force for command leaders. In addition, she is responsible for the Operational Security of 34 Scott-related social media accounts and ensures compliance and training requirements are met for 36 page administrators. During a recent wing support team meeting conducted via the Integrated Delivery System, she identified a deficiency for Public Affairs and developed the solution within days. One of the results was a new PA Toolkit for the base community that serves as a one-stop linkable document for PA products, forms, emails, formats, contacts and guidance on various public affairs products and services. She also develops unique graphics and has been responsible for the overhaul updating of the Scott AFB Newcomer’s Guide, while assisting in Media Engagement and Community Relations projects.
