TO THE AIRMAN AT SAFB:
As the retired spouse of an active duty Airman who served for 27 years, I can’t begin to express my deepest, sincerest, most grateful thoughts to all of you!
I now have the honor of being a civilian, working for an Army Reserve Unit (which is very different from my Family in Blue) in the St. Louis area and the camaraderie and togetherness that our military family has for one another will forever be unmatched!
I would first like to extend my warmest appreciation to Doug Rupp for getting me in touch with Chief Master Sgt. Brandy Petzel and to First Sergeant Anna Sanders (Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command) for helping us with a family in need.

We had an Army Reserve family residing on Scott AFB and due to some unfortunate circumstances, the family had to leave town in an emergency without the assistance of their servicemember.
One phone call to Petzel and Sanders and the family had 12 Airmen at the house to assist them in their time of need.
I would like to send a special thank you to each and every one of them, their first sergeants, chiefs and commanders for allowing them to miss time from their jobs/squadrons to help this family. Even though we wear different uniforms, we really are one family! It truly warms my heart that you all came out to help this family in need. I can’t thank you enough. You are the few that carry the many. May God bless you all!
