PRE-TEEN COSTUME DANCE

All little ghouls and goblins, ages 9-12, are invited to the Youth Program’s Pre-Teen Costume Dance from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 20 inside the Youth Center. Attendees should come dressed in their Halloween costume and enter the costume contest for prizes. Also, people can show off their vocal talents in our karaoke room! Fee—$3 members, $5 non-members. VETERAN’S VIGIL RUN

The Air Force Sergeant’s Association will be hosting the 8th Annual Veteran’s Vigil Run from 5 p.m. Oct. 20 through 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at the James Gym Track with an opening ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. The event is open to anyone with access to Scott AFB. THANKSGIVING DAY BRUNCH RESERVATION PERIOD BEGINS

The Scott Event Center will host a Thanksgiving Brunch from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 23. Included will be a Thanksgiving Day feast, plus several breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as the complimentary bar featuring Mimosas, Bloody Marys and more. Pre-paid reservations required (taken Oct. 23-Nov. 17 by 2 p.m.).

▪ Members: $19.95 (A), $8.95 (10-12), $5.95 (6-9) and free (5 & under); and

▪ Non-Members: $22.95 (A), $10.95 (10-12), $7.95 (6-9) and $2.95 (5 & under).

ORDERS BEGIN FOR TURKEY TAKE-OUT MEAL

Leave the cooking to us, and enjoy the Scott Event Center’s Thanksgiving Day feast this year at home. The Turkey Take-Out Meals include a 20 pound with stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes/gravy, vegetable, cranberry sauce, rolls and pumpkin pie. Pre-paid orders taken Oct. 23-Nov. 17. Limited to the first 50 orders. Meals can be picked up from 9-11 a.m. Nov. 23. Members—$130; non-members—$135. To order or for more details, call 256-5501.

SCOTT AFB CENTENNIAL FALL FESTIVAL

The Scott AFB Centennial Fall Festival is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Scott Event Center. The festival will feature a live concert by David Cook and Ryan Daniel Band plus free food, kids activities, fest tent, fireworks and Trunk or Treat. Private organizations who want to participate in the Trunk or Treat competition should call 256-2818. Units can sign up for the Scarecrow Building Contest or the Trebuchet Contest by calling 256-5275 ext. 5801.

NOTES

YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION

Youth interested in playing co-ed youth basketball can register at SAFB Youth Center through Oct. 31. Program is open to youth ages 5-13. Cost is $55 for members/$70 for non-members. Volunteer coaches are also needed. A special “Start Smart” Basketball Program is also available for ages 3-4. For complete details, call the Youth Center, 256-5139.

KIDS ART PLAY

Join the Arts & Crafts Center staff for a variety of “art classes” just for kids. The schedule is as follows:

▪ Oct. 19: 10 a.m.-noon Preschool Art Play “Pumpkin Play”—cost $5; and

▪ Oct. 28: 1-3 p.m. Kids Paint “Bats & Cats”—cost $7.

Preschool classes are open to ages 2-6 years of age and includes all supplies. Kids Paint classes are open to kids age 6 and up and includes all supplies. All classes will be held at the Scott AFB Library.

FREE MOVIES AT THE LIBRARY AUDITORIUM

Come to the Library Auditorium for exciting movies currently in theaters. The following movies are free and open to the base population.

▪ Oct. 20: 7 p.m. “Despicable Me 3” (PG); and

▪ Oct. 27: 7 p.m. “The Emoji Movie” (PG).
