Memorial 5K event honors A1C Zachary Cuddeback

More than 100 runners turned out for the 5th Annual Airman 1st Class Zachary Cuddeback 5K run July 7 at Rock Spring Park in O’Fallon.

Cuddeback was killed in a terrorist attack in 2011 at Frankfurt Airport, Germany, when gunmen boarded his bus and opened fire on him and a group of Security Forces Airmen.

He was flown back to Scott Air Force Base and was buried in the local area. More than $1,200 raised during the run will be donated to the USO and Fisher House of Missouri.
