JULY 23

R4R: HORSEBACK RIDING

Join the Outdoor Adventure Program at the Lake Glendale Stables for a scenic three-hour ride on horseback through Shawnee National Forest July 23. Enjoy dinner after in Marion, Ill. (your cost). Appropriate attire required; long pants and closed toe shoes. There is a weight limit for riding, ask staff for details. This event qualifies as R4R Initiative–provides exciting outdoor adventures for those in pre/post deployment and their families for a nominal fee, but everyone is welcome. Adventure is open to ages 12+. Adventure fee: $115. R4R Adventure fee: $20. Buses will depart Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 3176 at 8 a.m. returning around 6 p.m. Registration required. FIRST FRIDAY

Come enjoy First Friday beginning at 3 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Scott Event Center, complete with camaraderie, drink specials, and entertainment. Enjoy free apps and snacks for all. First Fridays are free and open to all. Festivities are held within Zeppelins Lounge, with apps/snacks being served from 4-6 p.m. in Zeppelins. AAFES is hosting “On the Spot Interviews” from 9:30-11 a.m. every Friday in the food court dining room in the Exchange Mall. EAGLE EYES PROGRAM

As a reminder, every member of Scott Air Force Base and its neighbors can contribute to safeguarding the installation’s mission, people and families. Security can only be possible if we all remain vigilant for potential threats. The Eagle Eyes program is an anti-terrorism initiative that enlists the eyes and ears of Air Force members and citizens in local community. If you observe any suspicious activity, any time during the day or night, Scott AFB members can call in a tip at 256-6000 ext. 3322, text tip to 274637(CRIMES), or visit www.tipsubmit.com. PHARMACY SERVICE CHANGES

The Main Pharmacy at the Scott Air Force Base Clinic now is filling and dispensing all new prescriptions. These prescriptions include: Off-base, Civilian Handwritten, Electronic Prescriptions, Scott Family Health Clinic, Belleville Family Medicine Clinic, and Provider Order Entry Prescriptions. Call-in refills will not change and will continue to be picked up at the satellite pharmacy. If you have any questions please call 256-7345 or ask one of the pharmacy staff.

LEAN IN SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE

A Lean In Circle has started at Scott. The mentoring group is designed to empower women to achieve their ambitions. Defense Secretary Ash Carter recently endorsed Lean In Circles as a way to help change the military culture. To join, please look up “ScottWomen” on www.leanin.org. To learn more, contact Capt.
