A Caseyville man pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after patrons at a Collinsville water park complained that he was taking photos of women and girls in swimsuits.

Melvin E. Hock, 59, was sentenced to 18 months of probation, and will have to undergo an evaluation for alcohol treatment.

Splash City Waterpark in Collinsville called police after they received complaints that Hock was taking videos and photos of women and girls at the park. When police searched Hock’s phone, they found 29 images and four videos of girls wearing swimsuits, ranging from 5-35 years old. The photos appeared to have been taken on four separate days.

Police said the photos were deleted of Hock’s phone, but because taking the photos isn’t technically illegal, there was nothing more police could do, other than charge him with disorderly conduct, Maj. Brett Boem said in late June.
