Private donors increase reward for information in Granite City robbery

The reward for information about an armed robbery in Granite City has been increased.

Authorities announced Monday that private donors have offered additional funds to bring the reward up to $2,000 for information leading the arrest of the person responsible for the robbery.

Granite City police say a man wearing a surgical mask and armed with a handgun robbed the Rain Tunnel Express car wash across the street from Gateway Regional Medical Center on Jan. 24, and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Granite City Police Department at 618-876-9027.
