A Collinsville man faces fraud charges alleging that he promised home repairs he never began.
Last month Collinsville Police investigated a report of home repair fraud from a resident who alleged he paid $1,000 to Ronald J. Briddell, 60, of Collinsville to remodel a bathroom. However, the resident said the work was never performed, and he made several attempts to get the down-payment back, but was unsuccessful.
According to Collinsville Police, Briddell was already wanted by the Granite City Police Department on allegations of aggravated home repair fraud.
Briddell was arrested on Thursday on the outstanding Granite City warrant. On Friday, he was charged with aggravated home repair fraud, a Class 2 felony. Madison County Circuit Judge Kyle Napp set bail at $75,000. Briddell remained in custody Friday at the Collinsville Police Department.
