A Belleville man remained in jail Monday morning after being accused of stabbing a 21-year-old man with a pair of scissors on Aug. 14.

Police say Darius M. Ransom, 28, threw a glass object at a man who is a family or household member. They say he also stabbed the man with a pair of scissors, choked the man and prevented him from leaving the home.

The charges did not specify where this is said to have happened and Belleville police were not immediately available for comment.

Ransom has been charged with aggravated domestic battery strangulation, two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and unlawful restraint.

He was being held on $60,000 bail.
