A 49-year-old Alorton woman charged with battery told police evil spirits made her hit a 63-year-old man in a wheelchair Thursday.
Bridgette Luster was arrested and later charged Saturday afternoon with aggravated battery to a disabled senior. Her bail was set at $50,000 and she remained in custody Monday afternoon.
The -63-year-old man is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair, Alorton Detective Marcus Smith said. The man got off a bus at Pop’s Liquor Store, located at 4601 Bond Ave., and Luster had a conversation with him.
Smith said she then struck him in his face.
