Two East St. Louis residents charged with attempting to distribute cocaine, Ecstasy

Two East St. Louis residents are facing drug charges in St. Clair County Court after police found Ecstasy and cocaine in their car last week.

Todrick L. Johnson, 35, and Terryana N. Richardson, 28, were arrested on Nov. 16 during a traffic stop on St. Louis Avenue, Capt. Bruce Fleshren of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department said.

Johnson could not present a valid driver’s license during the stop and was arrested in connection with that, Fleshren said. When police searched the car the two were in, they found multiple MDMA, or Ecstasy, pills and some cocaine. Richardson was then arrested as well.

Both were taken to St. Clair County Jail, but have since been released, Fleshren said.

Richardson was charged with three counts of unlawful possession, two of them for intent to deliver a controlled substance, documents from St. Clair County Court state. Johnson was charged with the same three counts, but also faces a fourth count of unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon.

Preliminary hearings for Richardson and Johnson were set for Friday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m., according to St. Clair County Court records.
