Police were asking for the public’s help in identifying persons of interest in the shooting of a 34-year-old Missouri man in Sauget last week.

On Monday, Illinois State Police released surveillance footage photos from businesses in the Sauget area that showed five people and a black Dodge Ram pickup. The people are believed to be the last ones who saw Christopher Moses, of Fenton, alive on Nov. 23. They left the area of Pop’s Nightclub in the pickup, police said.

At around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Master Sgt. Mike Lewis with Illinois State Police said all five people had been identified and two them had been cleared.

Moses’ body was discovered in his white Nissan Frontier on an embankment in the area of Illinois 3 and South Eighth Street in Sauget last Friday. According to the release, Moses was shot while driving his car northbound on Illinois 3. The investigation is being called a homicide.
