Two charged in U.S. Marshal-involved shooting and chase

The two men who fled from a Cahokia residence when police tried to serve a warrant on Friday have been charged. According to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Mike Lewis, the St. Clair County State’s Attorneys office charged 25-year-old Brandon P.C. Jimerson, of Cahokia, with two counts of aggravated fleeing/eluding and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

His bail was set at $150,000. Jimerson was the driver in a police chase that stemmed from the incident. Police fired shots before the car crashed at Illinois 3 and 8th Street in Sauget.

He is still hospitalized in St Louis, as he was shot by a member of the U.S. Marshal Task Force in a gunfire exchange after the two men inside the suspect vehicle attempted to run on foot.

Lewis said, “Jimerson remains in the custody of St. Louis City Jail pending extradition.” The passenger in the vehicle was Damond Wiley, 20, of East St. Louis.

He was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon. His bond was set at $30,000. He is being held at St. Clair County Jail. Illinois State Police continue to investigate the case.
