Madison police responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of 3rd Street Tuesday night.

The 911 report came in just before 9 p.m., an officer with the department said. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old man who had been fatally shot, KMOV 4 reported.

The victim’s name has not been released. According to the KMOV report, the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated to investigate. Anyone with information about the incident can call police at 618-709-7750.
