Two arrested in residential burglary in Fairview Heights

One of the men accused in the burglary of a Fairview Heights home Tuesday morning was charged in connection with the crime Wednesday.

Tyler R. Tingley, 27, of St. Louis, was charged with residential burglary, a class 1 Felony.

According to police, officers were dispatched at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday to a home on Estates View Drive after a resident found a man wearing a mask inside the house.

When officers arrived in the area, they found two men running away. They were taken into custody without incident. Police said they recovered evidence that connected the men to the burglary. Police also learned the men were on probation and parole for burglary in Missouri.

Police believe the burglary was random.

Possible charges against the second man had not been annoucned as of Wednesday afternoon.

Bond for Tingley was set at $100,000.
