Police nab suspect in armed robbery at U.S. Bank in O’Fallon

O’Fallon police have arrested a suspect they say robbed a U.S. Bank branch in O’Fallon on Wednesday.

At 1:20 p.m., police were called to reports of an armed robbery at the bank at 400 S. Lincoln Ave., a report from the department stated. A detailed description of the suspect was provided to police as the man fled the bank.

Police quickly located the suspect, who was still in the area on foot, the release stated. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested without incident in the 400 block of East 4th Street. Police said no one was injured in the crime.

The suspect has not been identified by police pending charges. The case is still being actively investigated.

Upon investigation, the case will be presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether to charge the man.
