Alton police searching for shooting suspect, say he is considered armed and dangerous
Police have asked for the public’s help in finding a shooting suspect they say is at large.
Anthony L. Greer, 51, was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon on Friday in Madison County Court, a news release from the Alton Police Department stated. Circuit Judge Neil Schroeder has set Greer’s bond at $200,000.
According to the release, Greer is accused of shooting another man in the foot with a .40-caliber handgun outside of a home during a domestic dispute in the 2500 block of Salu Street around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Greer fled on foot before police arrived. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say Greer is a black man approximately 5 feet and 3 inches tall, weight about 140 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous.
