Shiloh police find naked man throwing stuff. He’s accused of biting first responders.

A 22-year-old man was charged this week with aggravated battery and resisting a police officer after police say he scratched and bit first responders while they were trying to subdue him.

Michah I. Hardin was taken into police custody on Jan. 17 after officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Aquarius Drive for reports of a person having seizures, a news release from Shiloh police stated Thursday.

When police arrived on scene, they found that Hardin was not having seizures, but was instead naked, throwing objects and attempting to run down the street, the release stated. While police and EMS personnel attempted to subdue Hardin, he began biting and scratching them. A Shiloh police officer received non-life-threatening injuries and was treated on site.

Hardin was transported to a medical facility for evaluation.

According to police, Hardin is still at large. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged him with the two counts on Wednesday and Circuit Judge John O’Gara set Hardin’s bond at $40,000.
