Centreville man shot outside home in East St. Louis

A 26-year old Centreville man is in stable condition in an area hospital after being shot while he was leaving an East St. Louis residence, police say.

East St. Louis Police Sgt. Cantrell Patterson said the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Circle Road at 8:58 p.m. Thursday.

“The victim said he had a verbal altercation with an individual a short time before he was shot,” Patterson said.

Patterson said police do not know what led to the argument. Police have identified a person of interest, but no arrests have been made.
