Madison County man accused of sexually assaulting child left in his care

A Pontoon Beach man faces multiple charges in Madison County Court for allegedly sexually abusing a child that lived with him temporarily.

Kevin D. Tayon, 46, was charged with five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child that was in his care between June 2016 and April 2018, a news release from the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office stated Thursday.

Since the victim is a minor, no further details will be released, the release stated.

According to the release, Tayon remained in custody Thursday at the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville. His bond has been set at $1 million by Circuit Judge Kyle Napp.

If convicted on all five counts, Tayon faces up to 60 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on each count, totaling 300 years.
