Coroner releases identities of two people found shot to death in East St. Louis

Two people police found shot to death in an SUV Monday in the 1800 block of Division Avenue in East St. Louis have been identified.

The victims are Timothy Giroux, 45, of Palmyra, Missouri, and Roneka Brown, 33, of East St. Louis, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Police found their bodies in Giroux’s SUV early Monday after receiving reports of shots fired and two victims. Giroux and Brown had been shot multiple times and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later located the crime scene in the 1700 block of Broadway, said Sgt. Cantrell Patterson of the East St. Louis Police Department. No one has been arrested.

No details about a possible motive were available. Patterson would only say the slayings are under investigation.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
