Nurse accused of sexually abusing child patient faces felony charges, O’Fallon police say
A 24-year-old man has been accused of sexually abusing a child while working as an in-home nurse for the victim, O’Fallon police announced Tuesday.
St. Clair County State’s Attorney James Gomric charged William B. Morris, 24, of Cottage Hills, with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.
The charges involve alleged sexual abuse of a child who is between 13 and 17 years old by someone who is at least five years older than the victim and who holds a position of trust. The abuse is alleged to have happened on Aug. 28.
The O’Fallon Police Department investigated the allegations against Morris. Anyone with information about any other victims is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Eric Buck at 618-624-9568.
Morris was being held at the St. Clair County Jail as of late Tuesday afternoon. His bond was set at $100,000, according to news releases from the police department and state’s attorney’s office.
“Since this case involves a juvenile victim, we will not be releasing any further information,” the O’Fallon Police Department stated in its release.
