A 30-year-old Washington Park man was shot and later died at a St. Louis hospital Thursday.

Washington Park Police Chief Allen Bonds said police received a call at 11:54 a.m. reporting that shots had been fired into a residence in the 5400 block of Rosemont.

Bonds said officers were told at the scene that the victim was taken in a private vehicle to an area hospital where he later died. Bond would not release the man’s identity.

Police have not identified any suspects nor have they established a motive for the shooting.

Washington Park Police and Illinois State Police are investigating jointly. Anyone with information is asked to call ISP at 618 301-6764, or Crime Stoppers at 1-866 371(TIPS). This is an anonymous tip line that pays up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
