Drive-by shooting in Cahokia leads to police pursuit and arrest

A drive-by shooting in Cahokia led to a police chase and the arrest of a juvenile suspect Tuesday.

Police pursued a suspect vehicle following a report of the shooting in the 200 block of Jerome Lane at about 10:30 a.m.

The chase ended in Washington Park with the arrest of a teenager, who won’t be identified because of his age.

Cahokia Police Capt. Dennis Plew said an investigation is underway, but police are not sure if the car or juvenile driver is connected to the drive-by.

“We are in the preliminary stages of a police investigations. We do not have much information to release at this time,” Plew said.

Plew would not comment on the potential of any injuries.
