Woman found dead of gunshot wounds was third homicide in East St. Louis Saturday

An unidentified woman was pronounced dead at Touchette Regional Hospital in Cahokia Heights Saturday night.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said the woman, who is being classified a “Jane Doe,” died from gunshot wounds. It was the third murder in East St. Louis over the weekend. A man and woman also were found shot to death in a car earlier Saturday.

The unidentified woman was located by East St. Louis Police at 505 N. 32nd St. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 10:36 p.m.

Police are still investigating. No other information was immediately available.
