Major Case Squad investigating shooting death in Madison County

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated to investigate the shooting death of a 38-year-old man in Madison shortly before midnight Tuesday.

According to a release, Madison police received a 911 call at 11:48 p.m. reporting that a man had been shot in the 1700 block of Wayne Lanter Ave.

Andre Hutson, of St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

As of Wednesday morning, 18 investigators from the Major Case Squad were working the case.

“Investigators are making significant progress in the investigation,” a release from the Major Case Squad stated.” Investigators are actively working leads in order to identify the person(s) responsible for this heinous crime and bring them to justice.”
