Man charged with Monroe County laundromat burglary
The Monroe County State’s Attorney’s Office on Thursday charged a Missouri man for breaking into a laundromat in Columbia.
Jeremy Lorenz, 27, of St. Charles, Missouri was taken into custody Thursday by the St. Charles Sheriff’s Department and transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he’s being held on a single count of burglary.
The criminal charge stems from an ongoing burglary investigation of Columbia Laundry, 287 Southwoods Drive, during the early morning hours of Feb. 10, according to a press release from the Columbia Police Department.
Lorenz allegedly broke into a storage closet and stole a vacuum cleaner, a Dewalt impact drill, and a container of loose change.
Columbia Police have impounded Lorenz’s white 2010 Kia Rio, which is believed to have been used in the burglary.
