Cahokia Heights man killed by hit and run driver. Authorities asking for public’s help

A 50-year-old Cahokia Heights man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday, and police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver.

Paul Davis of the 300 block of Garden Street was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:39 a.m., said St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Francella Jackson, a spokesperson for the Cahokia Heights Police Department, said the police received a call at 5:30 a.m. about a hit-and-run victim at Water and St. Gregory streets.

The caller reported the victim was in a field on Water Street by the levee, she said.

“It seems that the victim was struck by a vehicle,” she said. “The vehicle did not stop.”

Anyone with information about this traffic fatality is urged to call Cahokia Heights Police at 618-332-1184.
