29-year-old man killed in East St. Louis shooting. Investigators ask for public’s help
A 29-year-old man was shot and killed in the 3300 block of Converse Avenue Friday night, according to authorities.
St. Clair County coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Lamar D. Johnson.
East St. Louis Police and Illinois State Police agents working with the Public Safety Enforcement Group unit responded to the reported location of the shooting and found the deceased victim.
Johnson was pronounced dead at 10:14 p.m. Friday, Dye said.
In a news release, Illinois State Police said an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
