Person killed in St. Louis parking garage identified as East St. Louis woman

A 56-year old East St. Louis woman was found shot to death in a downtown St. Louis parking garage Wednesday, police said.

The victim was identified as Latatia Stewart of the 100 block of St. Paul Drive in East St. Louis.

Police have not identified any suspects.

According to information released by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a call of a sudden death at the parking garage at about 6 p.m.

Officers found the woman behind her vehicle, suffering from bullet wounds to her chest and side. An EMS crew pronounced Stewart dead on scene.
