Major Case Squad releases ID of victim in Madison County fatal shooting
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis released the identity of the victim of a fatal shooting in Madison on Tuesday.
Jaylen I. Woods, 19, was found by officers in the backyard of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Madison Police Department reported a double shooting in the 1700 block of Edwardsville Road at about 1 p.m. A second victim was transported to Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City with non-life threatening injuries, according to a release.
