Identity of man killed in East St. Louis shooting is released by St. Clair County coroner
One person was killed and others were wounded in a shooting Wednesday night in the 3800 block of Audubon Avenue in East St. Louis.
Jermaine Bonner Jr., 20, whose last known address was in the 4000 block of Audubon Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:18 p.m., according to St.Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Others were wounded, but confirmed details were not available from the East St. Louis Police Department and the Illinois State Police, who are jointly investigating.
Police agencies had not released any other details to the BND in the early stages of the investigation.
That includes how many people were shot and whether any of the wounded suffered life-threatening injuries.
No motive, if one is known, has been released by police.
