40-year-old East Carondelet man shot to death, according to authorities

A 40-year-old man was shot to death Friday in Washington Park.
Peter Hester Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 p.m., according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.
Dye said Hester’s last known address is the 2900 block of Adams Avenue in East Carondelet.
Illinois State Police are assisting Washington Park police in the homicide investigation.
Agents with the Division of Criminal Investigations, Zone 6 Major Crimes, responded to North 47th Street and Caseyville Avenue to conduct a homicide investigation, according to a press release from Illinois State Police.
