A Missouri man suspected of robbing a Caseyville bank was captured after a police pursuit in St. Louis.

The name of the man has not been released since charges have not been filed in connection with the robbery at FCB Bank at 204 N. Main St. in Caseyville, according to Caseyville Detective Sgt. Danny Allison.

Along with being wanted in the FCB Bank robbery in Caseyville, the man is wanted in other robberies in Missouri, Allison said.

Caseyville police received a call for help at 4:49 p.m. Monday.

The man had entered the bank and asked about opening an account before he then went behind the counter to get an undisclosed amount of money.

“He used force against one of the bank employees in order to facilitate his escape,” said Allison, who added that he couldn’t release additional details of what the man did against the employee.

Missouri law-enforcement officers saw the getaway vehicle and the man was caught by police in the 3100 block of Delmar Avenue in St. Louis after a high-speed pursuit, Allison said.

“This was an isolated incident from someone who’s not from this area,” Allison said. “I’m definitely proud of the law enforcement response in apprehending the suspect at the end of this pursuit as safely as possible.”

As far as the Caseyville robbery, Allison said officials are discussing whether to seek charges in federal court or in St. Clair County court.
