St. Clair County coroner IDs woman found shot to death in East St. Louis
A 45-year-old woman was found shot to death Tuesday afternoon in East St. Louis. No arrests have been announced.
Danielle A. Braddix suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene, St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said.
Illinois State Police agents and East St. Louis Police Department officers responded to the 500 block of South 14th Street shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday to investigate the shooting, state police said in a statement.
No additional information was released by the police.
Dye said Braddix’s last known address was in the 4200 block of Trendley Avenue in East St. Louis.
The homicide was the second serious shooting incident in East St. Louis in as many days.
At about 5 a.m. Monday, police arrested a man after responding to the 1100 block of North 13th Street where a 21-year-old woman and 5-year-old child were shot, Illinois State Police said.
The woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds while the child suffered a graze wound to the head, according to a statement from state police.
The injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.
The man was arrested after a police dog searched the area. No other information about this shooting was released.
