Warrants, charges issued for two ESL men accused of 2014 murder
First-degree murder charges have been filed and arrest warrants issued for two East St. Louis men accused of killing another man more than a year ago.
According to St. Clair County court documents, Melvin M. Smith and Parry O. Gully Jr., both 24 and both of East St. Louis, are wanted for the murder of Charles Harper. The charges allege Smith and Gully shot Harper to death on June 17, 2014.
Arrest warrants for the men were issued because they were not in police custody as of Thursday afternoon. Bond for both men was set at $750,000.
