Police seek public’s help in finding Cahokia Heights murder suspect
Police are asking for the public’s help for information about a 21-year-old Cahokia Heights man who was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a man last week.
Niko A. Goree has not been arrested. The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis said Goree “should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Bradford L. Readus, 22, was found shot to death on Feb. 6 in a home in the 700 block of Mildred Avenue in Cahokia Heights. Police have said Readus was from Memphis, Tennessee, while the St. Clair County Coroner’s Office reported he was from the 100 block of Kenneth Avenue in Cahokia Heights.
Anyone with information on this shooting or the whereabouts of Goree is asked to call the Cahokia Heights Police Department at 618-337-9505.
“The Major Case Squad would like to express their condolences to the family and friends of Bradford Readus,” said Belleville Police Lt. Robert Thomason said in a news release posted on X, which was previously known as Twitter. Thomason served as the deputy commander of the Major Case Squad for this investigation.
“This is an unfortunate, and senseless crime. At this point in the investigation the public should be aware that this incident was not a random act.”
