Madison County pedestrian injured in hit-and-run, Illinois State Police say

A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Madison County early Wednesday, Illinois State Police said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital.

The person was struck at about 4:33 a.m. Wednesday on Collinsville Road at West Point Avenue near the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, Illinois State Police said in a statement.

Other information about the incident, including the victim’s condition, was not released as the case remains under investigation.
