Two victims of fatal St. Louis shooting identified as metro-east men

Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting that left two metro-east men dead, and three others injured.

Police identified the two deceased victims as Damon Lawson, 26, and Darrien Abrams, 20, both of East St. Louis.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, St. Louis police responded to a call in the area of Eighth and Carr Street in the Columbus Square neighborhood. When they arrived, the found multiple victims with gunshot wounds, according to a release.

EMS responded and pronounced Lawson dead at the scene. Abrams was transported to an area hospital where he later died, police said.

Two additional victims, a 25- and 26-year-old man, were taken to a hospital by friends or family. The 25-year-old is listed in critical but stable condition. The 26-year-old is in stable condition, according to St. Louis Police.

A fifth victim, a 24-year-old woman, was grazed by a bullet but refused medical treatment.

An investigation is underway to determined what led up to the shooting. No known suspects or motives have been released.
