FBI releases photos of suspects wanted in Brink’s truck robbery at metro-east bank
The FBI in Springfield has released surveillance photos of suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery of Brink’s armored vehicle drivers at a Madison bank.
Investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
The robbery occurred early Thursday outside the Regions Bank at 600 Madison Ave., which is across the street from the Madison Police Department.
The suspects held the Brink’s truck drivers at gunpoint and stole an undisclosed amount of cash in a bag, the FBI said in a news release Friday.
Two suspects approached the Brink’s vehicle near the Regions ATM while a third suspect remained in a getaway car.
The suspects fled in a Chevrolet Impala, which was later discovered in Washington Park.
The FBI released the following information about the suspects:
- Two Black males in their 20s.
- Approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build.
- One man was wearing a white, one-piece jumpsuit with a hood.
- A second suspect was wearing a dark hoodie.
- Both men were wearing balaclava face masks.
- No description is available for the third suspect who was driving the getaway vehicle.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the FBI in Springfield at 217-522-9675.
The FBI is investigating the robbery in collaboration with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and the Madison Police Department.
No injuries were reported in the robbery.
A representative from Brink’s said the company did not have a comment on the robbery.
