Collinsville cites 4 for alcohol sales to minors at local businesses, police say
The Collinsville Police Department said Wednesday the clerks at four businesses have been cited on a charge of selling alcohol to a minor.
Those cited worked at the following businesses:
- Sloan’s Pub House, 119 W. Main St.
- MotoMart, 702 Vandalia
- Sav-On Liquor & Wine, 809 St. Louis Road
- Collinsville Mini-Mart & Gas at 601 W. Main St.
The alleged violations were found during “compliance checks” on Monday, according to a news release from the police department.
No violations were found at seven other businesses:
- M’s Mart, 828 S. Morrison Ave.
- Aldi’s, 1716 Vandalia St.
- Circle K, 2233 Vandalia St.
- Sav-On Liquor & Wine, 1000 Beltline Road
- Walmart Neighborhood Market (Gas), 1101 Beltline Road
- MotoMart, 733 N. Bluff Road
- Casey’s, 217 N. Bluff Road
“In an effort to discourage underage alcohol and tobacco consumption and deter alcohol and tobacco outlets from selling to underage youth, the Collinsville Police Department conducts periodic alcohol and tobacco compliance checks within the city,” the news release said.
