O’Fallon Police are trying to find the suspect who struck a parked vehicle at a Dollar General store and then left the scene without taking any responsibility.

Sgt. Brian Gimpel said police were dispatched on Jan. 18 to the Dollar General at 648 W. Highway 50 to investigate a hit and run involving a parked vehicle.

The police department’s Facebook page has a photo of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.

The vehicle is a dark colored Honda Ridgeline with no front license plate. The collision occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Gimpel said surveillance video from Dollar General and neighboring businesses show the suspect hit a parked vehicle.

At one point, he got out and checked the damage on the back of his vehicle. “So, he clearly knows that he hit something,” Gimpel said.

“He didn’t go into the Dollar General,” Gimpel said.

Video that police were able to collect from other businesses in the area shows the suspect going to other businesses.

Police are hopeful that someone will recognize the suspect or his vehicle and call the police department at 618-624-4545.
