The St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit raided a Belleville smoke shop and the owner’s residence in Swansea on Wednesday and seized marijuana, firearms, cash and other items.

Investigators also arrested the owner, Tiyon T. Moore, 26, according to a release Friday from Belleville Police Department, which provided assistance through its code enforcement unit.

Moore was allegedly selling marijuana out of Twinzo Smoke Shop, Belleville Police Chief Matt Eiskant said Friday in an interview. The business is at 6400 W. Main St., Suite 1C.

“We’re going through the city attorney to revoke his commercial occupancy permit so he can’t run a business in Belleville,” Eiskant said, noting that Moore is from Fairview Heights, but he’s been living in Swansea.

Prosecutors with the St. Clair County state’s attorney’s office charged Moore with:

  • One count of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis, a Class X felony.
  • One count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a Class 3 felony.
  • One count of unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon, a Class 3 felony.

The St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit executed multiple search warrants on Wednesday as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation (not Thursday, as the release states).

The following contraband was seized:

  • 21 pounds of cannabis
  • 250 THC edible packages
  • 6 digital scales
  • 42 THC vape pens
  • 3 firearms (1 stolen)
  • 100 rounds of ammunition
  • $48,129 in cash

Moore is being held in the St. Clair County Jail. He will appear before a judge for a detention hearing in the near future, Eiskant said.

Belleville Police Department has been a longtime partner with the St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit.

“They do an incredible job of keeping narcotics off the street and cleaning up neighborhoods,” Eiskant said. “We really enjoy what they’re doing in Belleville.”

The Belleville Police Code Enforcement Unit continues to investigate business licensing and code violations related to Twinzo, according to the release.
